Have you been a victim of a scam? Well as you may already seen there are countless email scams every day. I get about 50 email scams a week telling me I’ve won the lottery or some Prince is going to give me a gazillion dollars. Well now there is a new scam from Australia Post, well not actually from Australia Post but its a very smart scam involving Australian Post customers.
How The Australia Post Scam Works
- An email which looks like its being sent from Australia Post will arrive in your inbox – the email will say its from email@example.com
- It will say you received a parcel but they can’t release the parcel to you because of the difference in postage fees
- So they’ll ask you to go to the link provide and then make a payment for the difference sin postage.
- You will then receive an slip in which you can go to the post office to claim your parcel
So be very careful if you receive any emails claiming to be from Australia Post asking you for extra postage fees. If they ever require additional postage fees, I’m sure you would be asked to pay for it over the counter and not over the internet.

Anytime you receive an email and you think its not legitimate the easiest way to tell if you’re being tricked is to check the properties or details of the email you received. It will tell you who the original sender really is. All this information is usually found in the email headers. Just Google how to check email source for your email client or Gmail, Hotmail, etc and you’ll find out how to do it.
